Quaker Boards

We are nestled in the “Mushroom Capital of America.” Mushroom wood, typically hemlock or cypress, lines the walls of the mushroom houses and is used as bed boards to hold the compost in which they grow mushrooms. Every few decades, when these boards are replaced, we collect them and thoroughly clean and process them. The enzymes in the mushrooms eat away the softest part of the wood, creating a completely unique look on the front. The backs are flat and show both band and circular-saw marks.
